I live 20 or so miles north of Reno, NV. I bought my house in 1995 (actually I moved in 10 years ago this weekend). Over the last 5 years my domestic well has been rapidly going dry. This year Washoe County began bringing water lines for folks out here in Lemmon Valley to hook up to city water. A few weeks ago the lines were brought to the corner of my street. I have been informed that I will not be able to redrill my well since city water is so close. I'd love to be on city water, the hook ...... about $10,000 to hook-up, abandon the well, etc. I do not have that kind of money. So basically what they are doing is stealing our water and selling it back to us. I am a single woman trying to make ends meet month-to-month. At this point I am doing laundry at friends' houses, my lawn is gone, there is barely enough water for a shower each day and I am unable to flush my toilets more than once per day. It is beginning to be a health issue and I need help!
